In a few sentences, please tell us about yourself:
29 year old social butterfly. Extremely silly, passionate, and super fun to be around. I make a joke out of pretty much anything. All I ever wanted to do is Hair , build great relationships with people and have a successful career in field of beauty.
What did you want to be when you were a little kid?
As a kid I actually wanted to become a lawyer. My mother surprising showed me an old scrapbook I created as a kid where my dream at 34 was to beat my first case. She firmly believes I have time to go back to pursue that. Nevertheless I was always a talkative child, and overly curious about finding things out. Even at 12years I was always inquisitive and wanted learn braid hair and taught myself.
What was your first job?
First job ever was at a local supermarket. I was a cashier for all of two weeks. I left shortly to attend college at Alabama state university. Crazy thing I would literally get clients while checking them out. Many women would ask me who did my hair I was my first best walking model.
When did you decide to pursue your current career path as a Hairstylist?
Hair was a natural thing for me since the 7th grade. I started braiding my brothers hair who was biggest critic and then was on from there, I would braid my classmates hair after school. I then continued into highschool, then college where I transition into providing installs/protective styles. Hair was always a great niche for me plus I was sociable. I became dedicated to perfecting my craft after college, and around 2012 I did an apprenticeship for a year and half then became licensed. Best decision I ever made.
What do you love most about your job?
Most fulfilling thing about being a hairstylist are making my clients even more beautiful. There reactions are always priceless. Best feeling is seeing new faces daily and putting there trust in me to give them there desired look.
Who is your mentor?
My mother very first person to inspire me to be all that you can. She also Impacted my career by being my first paying customer, lol and letting me experiment in her hair.
When it comes to your different hairstyles, where do you get your hair influence your creativity?
When first joining the social media world I always loved Ursula Stephens. I would watch her YouTube videos. Watching her journey and tips on the hair industry was always inspiring. Also,Tabatha Coffey was another woman in the beauty industry, her no nonsense personality inspired my work ethic. Many others I sought out through Instagram like ; BKLuvsme, Tokyosytlez, Kellon Deryck where I had the chance to actual take classes with theses phenomenal stylist.

Three valuable lessons I’ve learned to make my business flourish.
- Believe in yourself – be confident but humble. Invest in yourself
- Have some type of plan of action- opportunities comes comes that put in work.
- Trust the process – whatever is for you , is for you.
What advice would you give to someone who wanted to pursue a career in the hair / beauty industry ?
Best advice on anyone wanting to pursue a career in this business is always Put God first. Be personable, coachable and always be a student never stop learning. Write things down as you go thru the process so you see how far you’ve come. Be patient and always stay focus and enjoy the process.
What has been a highlight in your career ? And who is your dream client?
Being a big fish in a small pond. Many people travel to bigger cities for what they think is a better opportunity. I created my own lane and thrive in a small city.
